Pete Danelski is a creative producer, director and strategist with 15 years of experience creating artistic activations, specializing in live events and performance.
As Director of Programming at Eaton DC, he creates, curates, and produces a wide array of public programs, including live performances, community-building sessions, art exhibitions, and high-profile partnerships. By developing creative models—including recurring monthly programs, special events, limited series and festivals—Pete has curated a spaces for cross-departmental collaborations, artistic development and high-profile partnerships. Since joining Eaton, Pete has shaped the Eaton Residency Program—an annual cohort of artistic, cultural, wellness and sustainability practitioners—by positioning residents as creative ambassadors for the Eaton community, while co-producing original programs, which center artistic value, creative connection and innovation.
Outside of Eaton, Pete is a director and producer with a background in live performance and visual installations. His extensive experience in regional theatre includes new work development and world premieres. He is a 2019 Director-in-Residence with The Drama League of New York and a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab.
Pete also founded Pan Underground, a production company challenging ways performance is made and experienced. In 2021 Pete directed the DC premiere of Caridad Svich's RED BIKE, produced by Pan Underground and reimagined as a multi-site community celebration, as seen in American Theatre. As part of Pan Underground, Pete has curated large public installations as long as visual experiences in collaboration with Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company.
Pete is also the co-adapter of the first American adaptation of the Čapek brother’s Adam the Creator, which received a reading at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in 2019. Pete’s writing has been published internationally in Shakespeare, the journal of the British Shakespeare Association.
